There are three types of reports in the Encrypted Email Console

Policy Report

The Policy report displays results based on message content flagged by the Encryption policy engine.

To view a detailed report in the Encrypted Email Console:

  1. Hover the mouse over Reports and click Policy Report
  2. Enter the search criteria and click Search

Policy Report

Message Report

The Message Report is a basic report that can search messages by sender, recipient and status. If Encrypted Email has issues with delivery, it will display the information about each message, such as whether it has been delivered successfully or if there are any related errors/exceptions.

To view the Message Report in the Encrypted Email Console:

  1. Hover the mouse over Reports and click Message Report
  2. Enter the search criteria and click on Search

Message Report

Below each Message Status is listed with a description:

  • Unprocessed: The default status of a message, no policies have been applied to it. All messages have this status when they first arrive in EMG.
  • Discarded: A policy triggered a ‘discard’ action on the message, or if an incoming encrypted message cannot be decrypted by EMG.
  • Failed: The message cannot be sent. You can try to re-send the message by clicking on Send next to it.
  • Error: The message has caused an unexpected system level error. You can try to re-send the message by clicking on Send next to it
  • Sent: The message was sent successfully.
  • Logged: The message has triggered the ‘Log and continue’ action.
  • Ignored: The message was rejected before processing.

Audit Trail Report

Audit Trail report shows actions that were taken by users in EMG, such as creating, deleting and updating policies.

To view the report in the Encrypted Email Console:

  1. Hover the mouse over Reports and click Audit Trail
  2. Enter the search criteria and click on Search

If you do not need to use one of the following content-based criteria in your search and you do not need to see this information in your results, you should use the more efficient Message Report instead.

  • Header Content: Any value that appears in the message header.
  • Policy Name: Any policy triggered by the message.
  • Risk Level: The risk level of any triggered policies.
  • Mail Action: The action taken by any triggered policies.
  • Word list name: The word list containing the matched word or regular expression that triggered the policy.
  • Matched item: The specific word or a regular expression that triggered the policy.
