Share files and folders quickly and securely as web links with people inside and outside of your organization.

Send link functionality is available in:

Web Interface

Web Interface allows you to create a link with different permissions, set expiration date, and password-protect a link.

Select file/folder in Web Interface and click the Get Link or Share button:

You will be prompted to confirm the creation of link and will be able to determine if a link should be shared with View-only, Upload-only, View and Download or Download and Upload permissions.

The following link permissions are available:

  • View-only permission
    • This is an optional permission.
    • These web links allow recipients to preview the content without the ability to download content.
    • These links should be only used for content for supported by web preview capabilities: PDF, images, audio, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. The full list of supported file types is available in our Knowledge Base.
  • Upload-only permission
    • This is an optional permission.
    • These web links allow users to request/collect files from various parties without having to set up external shares.
    • These web links allow recipients to upload content into a folder while preventing the recipient from being able to view other content in the folder.
    • More information can be found here.
  • View and Download permission
    • This is the default permission. It cannot be disabled.
    • These web links allow recipients to both preview and download the content.
  • Download & Upload permission
    • This is an optional permission.
    • These web links allow users to request/collect files from various parties without having to set up external shares.
    • These web links allow recipients to upload content into a folder while also being able to view and download existing folder content.
    • Available only for folders.

Note: Only those permissions that have been enabled by the administrator will be available.

Important:  Once a link has been created for a file or folder with a specific type of permission, no additional links with that permission type can be created.  Users will be able to create links with different permission type or copy a previously-created link.

Expiration date and password protection can be configured by navigating to Actions > Edit link settings.

You can set your own expiration dates for web links as long as the expiration date does not exceed the account-wide link lifetime setting determined by the account administrator.  For example, if the account setting is for 6 months, you won`t be able to create a web link with an expiration date of 9 months.

You can password-protect a link before copying it and sending to someone. If a link is password-protected, they will be asked to enter a password, before being able to view and download the content.
