Calls are redirected to voice mail if they are not answered within specified timeout. If Find Me, Follow Me is set up for a phone, calls are redirected to the forwarding number after Find Me, Follow Me timeout, and then sent to voice mail after voice mail timeout. You can't turn off the voice mail system.

To change the voice mail or Find Me, Follow Me timeout using CONTROL PANEL:

  1. Navigate to Services > Hosted PBX > Manage Users.
  2. In the list of users, click the display name of the user you want to set this up for.
  3. On the Edit Selected User page, find the Timeout field. Click on it to modify the voice mail timeout.
  4. To change the Find Me, Follow Me timeout, click Find Me, Follow Me:. Enter the new timeout.

When Hosted PBX service is enabled for a user, the voice mail PIN (four random numbers) is generated automatically and sent to the user's primary email address. The user must enter this PIN when calling the voice mail number to check voice mail over the phone.

Voice mail messages are also forwarded to the user's email address as attached sound files. The user must have headphones or speakers for listening to voice mail on the computer.

To change the PIN or the email address for voice mail using CONTROL PANEL:

  1. Navigate to Services > Hosted PBX > Manage Users.
  2. In the list of users, click the display name of the user you want to set this up for.
  3. On the Edit Selected User page, find the Send Voice Mail To field. The email displayed is the address voice mail messages are currently sent to. You cannot view the current PIN.
  4. To change the email address for receiving voicemail, click the email address that is displayed. Type the new address and click Save Changes.
  5. To change the PIN for checking voice mail over the phone, click Reset PIN. In the Reset Voice Mail PIN window, type the new PIN in both boxes, and click Reset.
    Note that the PIN can only contain digits 0 through 9.

 To change the PIN or the email address for voice mail using My Services:

  1. Log in to My Services.
  2. On the Overview tab, you will see your personal phone settings. Note that your current PIN is not visible.
  3. To change your voice mail PIN, type the new PIN in both the Voice Mail PIN and Retype Voice Mail PIN boxes. You do not need to enter your old PIN.
  4. To change the email address for receiving voice mail messages, type the new address in the Send voice mail to box.
  5. Click Save Changes before leaving the page.

To change the greeting callers hear when they reach a voice mailbox:

Call the voice mail system and choose the option for changing the personal greeting.
